Main Ingredients

  • 1 lb Elbow Macaroni Tender and slightly chewy.
  • 1 cup Mayonnaise Adds a luscious texture.
  • 0.5 cup Sour Cream Balances the creaminess of mayonnaise.
  • 0.5 cup Dill Pickle Relish Infuses the salad with tangy notes.
  • 0.25 cup Dill Pickle Juice Enhances flavor and adds acidity.
  • 0.5 cup Red Onion (finely chopped) Provides a mild crunch.
  • 0.5 cup Celery (finely chopped) Adds refreshing crunch.
  • 2 tablespoons Fresh Dill (chopped) Elevates the flavor.
  • 1 teaspoon Salt Enhances all flavors.
  • 0.5 teaspoon Black Pepper Provides balance.

Instructions

Cooking Pasta

  • Start by bringing a large pot of salted water to a boil. Add the elbow macaroni and cook according to the package instructions, typically about 8-10 minutes, until tender yet firm to the bite.

Preparing Vegetables

  • While the macaroni is cooking, finely chop the red onion, celery, and fresh dill.

Mixing Dressing

  • In a large mixing bowl, combine mayonnaise, sour cream, dill pickle relish, and dill pickle juice. Stir until smooth.

Combining Ingredients

  • Once the macaroni is cooked, drain and rinse it under cold water. Add the cooled macaroni to the mixing bowl with the dressing, followed by the chopped celery, red onion, and fresh dill.

Seasoning & Chilling

  • Season with salt and black pepper. Mix gently until everything is well-coated. Cover and refrigerate for at least 1 hour.

Notes

For a lighter version, consider Greek yogurt instead of sour cream or mayonnaise. Use whole wheat pasta for added fiber. Always taste and adjust seasoning to preference.
