  • 2 cups uncooked penne pasta These little tubes are perfect for catching the sauce.
  • 1 pound chicken breast, cut into bite-sized pieces Tender chunks of chicken that soak up all the fantastic flavors.

Sauce and Seasoning

  • 3 cups marinara sauce Rich and aromatic sauce that adds tanginess.
  • 1 cup water Essential for cooking the pasta.
  • 1 tablespoon Italian seasoning A fragrant blend of herbs for flavor.

Cheese Toppings

  • 1 cup shredded mozzarella cheese Creates a deliciously gooey topping.

Instructions
 

Preparation

  • Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).
  • In a large baking dish, combine uncooked penne pasta, chicken pieces, marinara sauce, and water; stir until well mixed.

Cooking

  • Cover the baking dish with foil and bake for 30 minutes.
  • Remove the foil, sprinkle mozzarella and parmesan cheeses over the top, and add Italian seasoning.
  • Return the dish to the oven and bake uncovered for an additional 15 minutes until the cheese is bubbly and golden brown.
  • Let the casserole cool for about 5 minutes before serving.

Notes

For best results, use a good quality marinara sauce. Letting the dish cool helps in easier serving. Can be paired with green salad or garlic bread.
